Project:
Making of Exhibition Pavilion
This immersive, technique-driven workshop explores the properties, behavior, tooling, and manufacturing techniques of bamboo, leading to the full-scale execution of an architectural form. Designed as an intensive, hands-on experience, the workshop fosters the ability to visualize and articulate form through a series of joineries while deeply engaging with the sequence of construction. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of bamboo as a building material, examining its application in architecture through detailed fabrication and component assembly. Through working prototypes and collaborative sessions with skilled artisans, the workshop emphasizes the relationship between individual elements and their integration into a cohesive architectural structure. By engaging with local and regional contexts, the work produced will contribute to architectural discourse on a global scale.
